Videos surfaced over the weekend showing crowds of people dancing at Nikko's Japanese Restaurant in South End..... it looked like a normal Saturday, if only it were 2019. Signs are posted informing guests to wear face masks but not many people seemed to be following the rules. The videos have gone viral showing many patroons dancing maskless in the crowded restaurant. A spokesperson for the Mecklenburg County Health Department said: “We are working with law enforcement as well as our COVID Ambassador’s to address this unacceptable situation during the Pandemic.” With covid cases still on the rise, North Carolina extended phase 3 of the covid restrictions in hopes of slowing the virus down.
