Gaston County's Jason May Competes To Hook $100K Mackerel In NC Tournament

Former award winning Gaston County police officer, turned sports angler and Captain for First Response Fishing Team is competing to hook the biggest King Mackerel this weekend during the largest King Mackerel fishing tournament on the East Coast. The Fishing Tournament is held in Southport, NC with over 400 boats fishing for the grand prize.

Yes, J May was my coach and when anyone on our team would miss a ball, he made us ALL run! That tough leadership worked, we went 11-0 for the season! What that also shows is Coach May likes to win, that's why I'm completely confident that the First Response Fishing team, Captain J, Lenny Goins and Steve Wright, will come out as one of the top fishing teams in this year's tournament. These Gastonia men know a thing or two about fish whispering....
