Volunteers Preparing to Help Hurricane Victims

Two American Red Cross volunteers from Charlotte traveled Tuesday morning to Raleigh, where they'll join more than 1,000 volunteers who are preparing to help potential hurricane victims.

After Hurricane Florence makes landfall, the volunteers will be deployed to areas impacted by the storm.

Volunteer Michelle Kaufman helped serve nearly 1,600 people a day in Houston after Hurricane Harvey. She says the work they do is important, but it can be emotional as well.
